Theron Brock Schmalz grew up in Whately, MA, and currently lives in Hatfield, MA. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 18 and served 18 months in Australia before starting his year’s tour in Vietnam in June 1969, at age 20. 

Brock worked as an electrician in Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit 301 in Quang Tri Province and Chu Lai.

After completing his tour in 1970, Brock rejoined the service, and in 1978 switched to the Air Force, in total completing 23 years of military service. He has been a member of the Hatfield American Legion Post 344 for many years.
